The Membership Process

1. Explore Your Options

Each council follows its own recruitment or intake model;  so learn about the organizations available through the Interfraternity Council (IFC), College Panhellenic Council (CPC), National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), and Unified Greek Council (UGC). Review each organization's values, traditions, membership expectations, and opportunities for involvement.

2. Register or Express Interest

Some councils require advance registration, while others invite students to attend interest meetings or informational events before beginning the membership process. Visit the appropriate council page for specific instructions and important deadlines.

3. Participate in Recruitment or Intake

Attend scheduled recruitment events, informational sessions, and activities hosted by the council or individual organizations. These events allow you to meet members, learn about each chapter's culture, and determine where you feel most at home.

4. Receive an Invitation to Membership

If you and an organization determine there is a mutual fit, you may receive an invitation to join the chapter. The invitation process differs by council and organization.

5. Complete the New Member Experience

After accepting membership, you will participate in a structured new member education program. This experience introduces you to the organization's history, values, traditions, expectations, and leadership opportunities while helping you build meaningful relationships with fellow members.
