Why Doesn't Baylor Have Fraternity and Sorority Housing?
Baylor's Fraternity & Sorority Life experience is intentionally designed to keep students connected to the broader campus community. Rather than living in chapter houses, fraternity and sorority members live throughout Baylor's residential communities, and the surrounding Waco community—allowing them to build relationships with students from a wide variety of backgrounds, interests, and involvement areas while remaining fully engaged in the overall student experience.
While Baylor does not have fraternity or sorority housing, the University provides spaces that support and celebrate the Fraternity & Sorority Life community. The Stacy Riddle Forum serves as a home for Baylor's nine National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) sororities and offers reservable meeting spaces and a chapel for all registered student organizations.
Additionally, the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) Garden serves as a visible celebration of the history, legacy, and lasting contributions of Baylor's Divine Nine organizations. Located adjacent to Baylor’s Fountain Mall, the garden recognizes the rich traditions of historically Black fraternities and sororities and creates a space for reflection, education, and community. It stands as a testament to the leadership, scholarship, service, and cultural impact these organizations have had on Baylor University and communities across the nation. The NPHC Garden not only honors the past but also highlights the continued influence and achievement of NPHC members who help shape the Baylor experience today.
