Letters of Recommendation

A letter of recommendation (also referred to as LOR, REC, or RIF) is a letter or statement recommending a woman for membership. A LOR is written by an alumna member of a sorority. This serves as your introduction to the sorority, so its members can get to know you in advance of primary recruitment in the spring. It is sent to the specific Baylor chapter that the alumna is affiliated with.

Are Letters of Recommendation Required?

Baylor Panhellenic does not require that PNMs have LORS. Individual sororities may have specific requirements. We recommend that PNMs have one recommendation per chapter that requests LORs. Having more than one WILL NOT necessarily increase your chances of joining that sorority. It is 100% okay if you can't find a recommendation for every chapter!
