Eligibility Requirements
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR JOINING
Academic achievement is an important value of the Baylor Greek Life community. Students must meet minimum requirements to participate in a recruitment or intake process.
Baylor policy states that a first-year student must have:
- A minimum of 12 hours of academic credit during one semester in residence at Baylor University.
- Obtain a 2.67 cumulative GPA and a 2.00 current GPA to join a fraternity or sorority.
- Grades are NOT rounded up in determining eligibility.
However, many organizations require all potential new members to have a higher GPA to join their individual chapter.
Baylor policy states that transfer students must have:
- Attended a college, university or junior college during a fall or spring semester AFTER high school graduation. Dual credit or advanced placement NOT included.
- To join first semester, a transfer student must have completed a minimum of 24 transfer credit hours with a transfer GPA of 3.0. Dual credit or advanced placement NOT included.
- Grades are NOT rounded up in determining eligibility.
